Our Annual Giving Tree Appeal with Empower is back again this year from 1st December.
The Giving Tree Appeal will give a child in need a Christmas gift this year. It’s so simple, you choose a card from the Giving tree on level 2 with the name and age of a child to buy a gift for. You can then return your gift with the card straight back to the volunteers at the Giving Tree and your gift will go to that child on Christmas morning. Blanchardstown Centre’s Giving Tree Appeal brings cheer to families by ensuring that no child, on its list, is without a gift on Christmas morning. Shoppers and staff are asked to choose a card from the Giving Tree in Blanchardstown Centre and kindly buy a present for the child named on the card.
We would like to thank everyone who has donated to our Annual Giving Tree Appeal to date. Last year over 1,200 gifts were generously donated by customers and staff over the Christmas period, an incredible result. These gifts were distributed to local families in need by the amazing team at Empower. The wonderful work that they do ensured that over 200 families received hampers too. Extra donations received after the closing date were given to children in Temple Street and St. Francis Hospice. Thank you to Empower, volunteers at Castleknock College, Mary, Fr. Dan Joe, our own teams and everyone involved in this wonderful initiative. Over 60,000 gifts have been distributed since the inception of the Appeal over 20 years ago 
In addition, a number of other charities have also benefitted from the Appeal in the past, namely, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Clonsilla, Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Chernobyl Children, Ashleigh House, Coolmine Therapeutic, Friends for Friends together with orphanages and women’s refuges across the city.
