The addition of Bershka follows several other recent signings at the centre – including Nike, which will open its new Nike Unite concept store in early May, this will be the first in Ireland, it follows the hugely successful opening of ZARA at Blanchardstown centre last November – the brand’s largest store in Ireland and UK luxury fashion retailer, FLANNELS, which also opened a new 45,000 sq ft department store in November.

Blanchardstown Centre is Dublin’s largest retail and leisure destination, covering over 1.1 million sq ft. The centre acts as a key community focal point and attracts high visitor numbers from Dublin and surrounding counties, with an annual footfall of over 16 million.

The centre has benefitted from an extension and extensive refurbishment process over the last 2 years, with further spend planned. The work involved a full mall upgrade. This investment has succeeded in attracting a host of new international and local brands, and centre occupancy currently stands at 98%.

Blanchardstown is Dublin’s third largest urban area, popular with urban professionals and young families, with one of the fastest growing populations in Ireland. Catchment totals 1.9m, with 39% of shoppers in the three most affluent Acorn categories. The town enjoys excellent transport connections – sitting on the M50 ring road and N3 motorway, eight miles from Dublin city centre, 15 minutes from Dublin airport and on a total of 20 bus routes.

“The new flagship Bershka is a great addition to the line-up here at Blanchardstown. The signing is indicative of continued confidence across the market – and the resilience of prime physical retail in Ireland specifically. It also reflects the success of our substantial investment in the centre over the last two years, increasing its appeal for international, household names like this one and the upcoming store opening Nike Unite next month. Bershka is also a brand which really understands the importance of integrating physical and digital retail strategies – giving shoppers the best of both worlds and a seamless experience. It is exactly the type of retailer we want at Blanchardstown Centre. The addition will significantly enhance our overall offer, and we’re delighted to see the store open its doors” Blanchardstown Centre Management
